Anti-Bullying
No Bully Zone
Presented by Amazing School Assemblies
This Anti-Bullying School Assembly Teaches and Empowers Your Students
All in 45 minutes — and they walk out repeating the word back to each other.
To keep the lessons easy to remember, I use the word H.E.R.O. as a memory hook for the core concepts of the show. Being a H.E.R.O. reminds your students how to treat others with kindness and to look out for people who need help. The whole program is dressed with a superhero themed backdrop and banners to reinforce it visually.
H
Help
Your students learn they can ask for assistance — for themselves, or for someone else who is in trouble.
E
Empathize
They are challenged to consider the feelings of others before they do or say anything.
R
Report
They learn that telling a trusted adult about bullying behavior is not “tattling.” That distinction does a lot of work.
O
Open Up
Kids are encouraged to talk about their feelings, about incidents they have seen, and about what happened to them.
Acronyms are powerful memory aids, and I wanted this to be much more than “hey kids, don’t bully.” Students come away with a clear understanding of what actually constitutes bullying behavior, how to prevent it on their part, and what to do if they see it or encounter it themselves. In short, they leave with something they can use — which takes pressure off your teachers and faculty.
Grade levels: k-5
