Yes I Can

Presented by Amazing School Assemblies

This Character Education School Assembly Inspires and Motivates Your Students With one simple word — and they can still tell you what it stands for a month later. A ‘magic word’ that can change your students’ lives Through the program I use the acronym S.T.A.R., and how any student can be a S.T.A.R. by remembering four basic ideas. It is short enough that a kindergartner keeps hold of it and true enough that a fifth grader does not roll their eyes at it. S Special Your students deserve to feel good about themselves — and they can help others feel good too. T Talent Every student has gifts or abilities that make them important, even if they have not discovered them yet. A Anything Every student can accomplish great things in life, as long as they keep trying. R Respect They learn the value of respect, and why you have to give it in order to receive it. This program has a strong focus on respecting others and treating people the way you want to be treated. Along the way there are powerful stories, join-in fun, contests and incredible magic. Your students will be riveted to the magical telling of “Mr. Tuck And The 13 Heroes” and its surprise ending. There are two crazy contests. One teaches trust, using two students and a teacher. The second illustrates the dangers of judging people by their appearance — and one counselor wrote to say she loved that the popular, athletic kid was the one who could not lift the box. There is also an inspirational segment about diversity built around a giant jigsaw puzzle. That routine sums up the entire program and serves as an emotional crescendo. The kids and the teachers will be riveted — guaranteed. And for the older grades, I include a segment that reveals how they can instantly raise their test scores. Teachers love this one, every single time.
